All formulas are developed with particular attention to skin tolerability and are subjected to dermatological testing, including on sensitive skin, to assess skin compatibility and reduce the risk of irritation. One example is the Nickel Test, which verifies that nickel is present within extremely low limits, ensuring safe use even for people sensitive to this metal.
It is important, however, to distinguish between skin irritation and allergy: sensitive skin may react more easily to certain ingredients or external factors, showing redness, discomfort or irritation, whereas an allergy is a specific immune system reaction to a particular allergenic substance. For this reason, even a dermatologically tested and well-tolerated product cannot completely rule out the possibility of individual allergic reactions.
In accordance with the most recent European regulations, Oway indicates on the label any allergens that may be present above the thresholds set by law. In addition, in the spirit of full transparency, the brand also declares the essential oils contained in fragrances that are not included in the list of regulated allergens: these ingredients can be identified in the INCI list by an asterisk (*).
